Our Story

Albums4U is not a new business but rather a tried and tested business with a rich history of excellent quality and reliability. I am delighted to have been able to purchase My School Career Albums from Annelet Fourie in March 2020, and do my bit to continue her dream for this business that she started from scratch with so much passion and dedication in 2002. Annelet has worked hard to develop and produce a hard-wearing, handmade album that is well constructed and beautiful. These cherished albums have the added charm of being able to be personalised while storing all one’s treasured school memories with a sense of pride and joy.

Many years ago, my mother took the time and trouble to collect and store all my school memories in a similar albeit less robust album. It is however something that I have always cherished and treasured. On the strength of that I looked for albums to buy for my children when they were at school in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I was delighted when I eventually found Annelet’s My School Career website and was able to buy albums for both my children.

When Annelet contacted me to let me know that she was thinking of selling the business my heart skipped a beat at the possibility of being able to buy it from her. Initially I thought I was being silly and decided against it. However, the possibility kept nagging at me and my excitement kept growing at the prospect of being able to buy this business. With the help and encouragement from my family and a friend, I pursued this wild idea.

Annelet and I negotiated the deal just weeks before lockdown, at the end of March 2020, COVID – 19 put many obstacles in our way, but despite all this we managed to get all the equipment moved from Natal to the Eastern Cape as soon as the rules allowed. Annelet very kindly passed on all her album building skills to me via informative videos. I have spent these past few months learning how to build the albums and have loved every minute of it. Annelet is always there to answer my calls when I need help and guidance through a problem or mastering a new skill. It has been an absolute delight to carefully make each and every album and then get them all packed up and sent off to their new prospective owners all over South Africa.

I would like to give God all the glory for bringing this business into my life when I needed a new challenge and focus. It has blessed me in so many ways and I am looking forward to many more happy years of treasuring this business and building albums for children to collect and store records of their memories and achievements during their years at school.
